This strawberry syrup is so versatile and delicious addition to many drinks and desserts. Here are some of my recommendations.
This homemade strawberry syrup may be easily stored and frozen. You can use it for several months. Does that sound amazing?
Allow your syrup to completely cool after it has finished cooking. Then store it in an airtight jar or glass bottle. You can keep it at room temperature for a few hours or in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
f you want to keep your strawberry syrup for longer, freezing is an excellent choice. Pour the syrup into an ice cube tray and freeze. Once frozen, place the cubes in a zip-lock bag. Frozen syrup can last up to three months, ensuring that you always have some freshness on hand.
Simply take out the necessary amount whenever you need it and let it defrost overnight in the refrigerator or on the kitchen counter for 30 minutes to an hour. This way, you won't need to thaw the entire batch.
Use fresh strawberries - The syrup's flavor is determined by the strawberries you use. Also, make sure you aren't chopping it too large; otherwise, it may not cook evenly.
Can I use frozen strawberries? Yes, absolutely. You can also use frozen strawberries. Just make sure to properly defrost them, remove all excess water, and follow the recipe instructions. Please keep in mind that frozen strawberries may release more water, thus it may require extra cooking time. If it remains runny, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and you're done.
Why is my strawberry syrup so runny? Maybe you didn't cook it enough. Continue cooking and check the consistency. If the mixture is still runny, add the cornstarch slurry and cook for a few more minutes.
