Isn't it so simple? Starbucks chai frappuccino is ready in minutes.
Chai bags - This is the star of the recipe. Use your favorite chai, no specific preference here. If you have chai powder, then brew the chai just like brewed coffee, Make sure it is chilled before mixing with the rest of the ingredients.
Water - This is needed to make the chai concentrate. If you are using brewed chai made with chai powder then skip out this ingredient.
Milk - This adds creaminess to out chai frappuccino. Use full fat or 2% or 1% based on your preference or availability in your kitchen.
Whipped cream - Our chai frappuccino is incomplete without whipped cream. Use store-bought or make your homemade whipped cream.
Vanilla syrup - This is nothing but the simple syrup mixed with vanilla extract.
Cinnamon - A little bit of cinnamon enhances the chai flavor and adds warmth to the chai frappuccino. Perfect for giving it that "just like Starbucks" vibe!
Dairy-free - Replace regular milk with soy milk, oats milk, or any nuts milk to make a dairy-free or vegan version of the recipe. Skip whipped cream in this case.
Sugar-free - Use your favorite sweetener in 1:1 quantity. My favorite is this monk-fruit sweetener.
This chai frappuccino should be stored in the refrigerator or in the freezer as it contains milk and whipped cream.
If you have any leftovers simply store your Chai Frappuccino in the fridge for up to 1-2 days. Just give it a quick stir before serving again since the whipped cream might separate.
To enjoy for more days, simply pour the leftover chai frappuccino into an ice cube tray. Once frozen, transfer the ice cubes to a Ziplock bag and freeze. If your ice cubes have lid, it is ok to keep it in the ice tray itself.
When you are ready to drink, simply place it in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth or add in serving glass and serve when it is melted (if you have that much time in hand)
This recipe is highly customizable just like any other Starbucks drink. Here are some of my favorite recommendations.
Can I make this drink without a blender? Of course. Just mix all of the ingredients together and nicely shake it before serving.
How can I make this recipe in advance? There are two options. First, make the chai concentrate and vanilla syrup in advance. Blend with the rest of the ingredients just before serving. Second, Make the chai frappuccino in a big batch and freeze it as ice cubes. Blend in a blender just before serving.
How can I make it stronger in flavor? Just add more quantity of brewed chai while blending and you are good to go.
